Day Twenty-Three
Galatians 2:19 - 20
I have been crucified with Christ and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me. The life that I am now living, subject to the limitation of human nature, I am living in faith, faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.
Reflection
We are to be dead to sin and alive for God in Christ Jesus. We will still be tempted, but God will always provide a way out of temptation. In fact, when we start to get serious about our call to holiness we will likely be even more tempted to sin than ever, because the devil will not want to lose us to the kingdom of light and peace.
Jesus loved us so much that he gave his life so that we might have a new life, based on faith in him. Jesus wants to live in and through us here and now. It is the power of Christ's death and resurrection that enables us to walk in spiritual victory. The blood of Jesus conquers all evil and sin. As missionaries of merciful love, we are called to a life of faith: faith in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, trusting not in our own strengths and abilities but in the power of God revealed in Christ.
Prayer
I Thank you, Jesus, for loving me so much that you gave your life for me. I now give my life for you in loving service and obedience. Help me always to be faithful to you until the end.
Amen.
