Day Fifteen
Romans 5:5
The love of God has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit which has been given to us.
Reflection
Wow! When God gives gifts, He gives extravagently. He has "poured into our hearts" His own Holy Spirit. When we belieived and were baptized, the Holy Spirit came to dwell in our souls, filling us with Divine life and light, power and the spiritual gifts we need to live a good Christian life and be witnesses for Jesus in the world.
We did not deserve the Holy Spirit, we did not buy the gifts He gives us... they are free! We are only called to receive them with love, humility and exercise the gifts we have received, including the gift of faith, hope and love. Love is like a muscle: if we don't use it, it will become weak. If, however, we exercise it regularly it will become strong and expand and our capacity to love will increase, both for God and for people.
Prayer
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for pouring out your love through the Holy Spirit to my heart. Help me to be a good vessel of your love and expand my capacity to love you and others. Through Christ our Lord,
