Day Sixteen
Romans 8:28
We are well aware that God works with those who love him, those who have been called in accordance with his purpose, and turns everything to their good.
Reflection
What a wonderful promise God's word gives us: everything will work out for our good if we love God, because God will "work with" us according to his purpose. To be real, love must be free. We have freedom to love and freedom not to love. The choice is ours. To choose sin is choosing not to love God, either in small or large ways. To habitually choose to sin is to develop a character that rejects God's love.
God has wonderful plans for our loves but he waits for us to cooperate with his love. He has called each one of us in accordance with his purpose. His purpose for you is different, in some ways, than his purpose for me. If we want God to work with us with need to love him. The Lord looks at our hearts, not at how smart we are, etc.
Prayer
Lord, help me to work with you by loving you with all my heart. I let go of all sinful desires and surrender my life to you this day. Use me according to your purposes, for your glory.
Amen.
